Seat context — Narre Warren South›
Narre Warren South becomes an open Labor-held contest in 2026: sitting MP Gary Maas, who has held the seat since 2018, announced in June 2026 that he will not seek re-election. Labor has preselected outgoing Casey City Council Mayor Stefan Koomen as his replacement. The Liberal candidate, Norliah Syer-Peterson, became a prominent vaccine-access advocate after her teenage son's death from meningococcal B in 2025. The Greens' Jill Nambu, One Nation's Trevor Hammond, and Victorian Socialists' Bailey McCracken round out the confirmed field, and independent Scott Watson announced a candidacy on 29 June 2026.

Platform
Where they stand, issue by issue — grounded in 2026 Victorian polling, not assumed. Every position is tagged with how we know it.
Her profile says she "wants Victoria to be safer, more affordable and better supported, with stronger healthcare, lower taxes and more opportunities for local businesses to grow."
It says she will "fight to put the people of Narre Warren South first and deliver A Fresh Start for all Victorians."
Free meningococcal B vaccination is the issue she has campaigned on publicly since September 2025, per her petition and the ABC's reporting.
What Victorians say matters most
5 poll-led issuesCost of living and crime have ranked 1st or 2nd in every Victorian poll since mid‑2025, with debt and housing close behind — see schema §3 for the polling this grouping is based on (DemosAU, Ipsos Issues Monitor, Roy Morgan). The 0-10 'priorityScore' on each candidate's issue entries is NOT a measure of true importance or an independent ranking of what a candidate actually cares about. It reflects how much detail and specificity exists in what that candidate has actually said publicly on that issue -- a named policy mechanism and a verified voting record score higher than a one-line stated priority, regardless of the issue's real-world weight. Render this distinction in the UI wherever the score appears; do not label it just 'Priority' without the qualifier.
Cost of living
Her profile says that as a music school owner she "understands the pressures local families and small businesses face with the rising cost of living, increasing crime and unnecessary government red tape."
It says she wants Victoria to be "more affordable," with "lower taxes and more opportunities for local businesses to grow."
Leader Jess Wilson framed the Liberal vaccine pledge as a step that "will save lives and ease cost of living pressures for families."

Health and healthcare access
Her candidate profile says that after losing her son to meningococcal B she "fought for free access to a vaccine, including presenting a petition to the Australian Parliament."
Her Change.org petition calling for the vaccine to be funded is marked "Victory" with 41,044 supporters.
In the Assembly on 9 December 2025, Liberal Brad Battin asked the Health Minister whether the government would commit to funding the vaccine; the Minister replied that she had asked the chief health officer to review the need for a localised program.
The Liberals and Nationals announced on 8 December 2025 a pledge to fund the vaccine for infants aged 6 weeks to 12 months and for Year 10, with catch-up programs for ages 12 months to two and 15 to 19.
On 11 May 2026 the Labor Government announced the vaccine would be free for Year 10 students from 1 January 2027, with more than $9 million to deliver it.
The ABC reported the Health Minister said the program was funded only for Year 10 and other funding avenues were being explored, and that the government would not confirm it would continue beyond 2027.
The ABC quoted RACGP Victoria chair Dr Anita Muñoz saying "no-one has been more instrumental in making this change than Norliah Syer-Peterson."
Syer-Peterson told the ABC "It’s not just because of me," and that she could not take credit for the announcement.
Her profile says she wants "stronger healthcare" and credits her own actions for the vaccine becoming free for Victorian 16-year-olds.

Treaty and First Nations affairs
No personal statement on Treaty found in her profile.
Party platform (not candidate-specific): the plan promises "stopping the $1 billion being spent on Labor's divisive Treaty."
The ABC reported in October 2025 that the Liberals would legislate to repeal Treaty within their first 100 days and create a First Nations Victoria department instead.
Regional and rural Victoria
No personal statement found in her profile; Narre Warren South is a metropolitan seat.
Party platform (not candidate-specific): a Fair Share Guarantee giving regional Victoria at least 25% of infrastructure spending, repealing compulsory land-acquisition laws for transmission lines, and restoring VCAT appeals.

Endorsements & Donations
Per the VEC's own funding guidance for registered political parties (accessed 2026-09-24), public funding is paid to the registered party, not to individual candidates. The Liberal Party of Australia – Victorian Division appears on the VEC's list of currently registered parties (first registered 26 March 1985, re-registered 3 October 2024), and is eligible if at least one endorsed candidate receives at least 4% of first-preference votes or is elected.
The amount is based on the party's audited statement of expenditure, the votes its candidates receive and legislated maximums, at an indexed per-vote rate that the VEC's indexation page (accessed 2026-09-24) lists as $7.70 for lower-house candidates in 2026-27, up from $7.46 the year before. The VEC's funding page notes it is under review following the Electoral Further Amendment Act 2026, so these rules may change before the election.
